Getting command description of running device (or database)

Hi, we are developing a tool for generating Markdown-formatted end user documentation for Tango devices. The xmi-based approach is almost at a usable state. Since you do not necessarily have xmi for older devices or devices written in Java or Python we are adding a client-based (device proxy) option to extract all the command, attribute, property etc. metadata from a running device. Now my question: I have not found a way to obtain the command description, only the descriptions for in and out parameters. Is there a way or is this feature missing? I did not find a place where Jive displays the command description either… Many thanks! bxe Miq |

Hi Mic, I am sorry to tell you that this feature does not exist! That's a good reason for Jive not displaying it. It's always possible to fill a feature request in SF for a future Tango release. Regards Emmanuel |

Thanks for the reply, Manu! I will submit a feature request in SF… best regards, Miq |

Bummer! Submitting Feature requests is not available for ordinary SF-users. What is the best way to get this request in? Should I file a bug report? Does anyone want to add me to the developers of tango-cs? Can someone file the feature request for me? Many thanks for your help in advance! best regards, Miq |
