[forum] dead links into mail notifications

Hi,
when receiving mail notifications related to new answers or subjects into this forum, I see that the 3 links (Link to post, Link to topic, Link to reply) are dead links leading to following 404 error :

Page not found
Error 404

gphilippe, the requested page does not exists.

I get this from several messages I tested (even on messages which worked if I remebmer well) so I conclude something is broken on the website.

Hi Philippe,

I noticed that too.
It seems that a change occurred on the 26th July.
The links to the forum were starting with http://www.tango-controls.org/community/forums before and are now starting with http://www.tango-controls.org/community/forum

Just remove the 's' in forums in the wrong links and it should work.
I think it's a bit sad that this change occurred without notification.
Some links pointing to the forum returned by search engines are also broken now, but with a bit of time, the correct links will be presented again by these search engines I guess.

Cheers,
Reynald

Yes, you're right, and it seems correct now. :)

There is a principle on the web that "good URLs don't change". If the rename is to be permanent, the site should at least be set up to redirect the /forums/ links to /forum/?
I think also a redirection would be the best solution.
The former mails of the mailing list include URL to forums which are dead links.
