The answer is that PyTango 8 and Python 2.7 are compatible with all version of Tango Controls. This is one of the features of Tango - to guarantee backwards and forwards compatibility as much as possible.

This means you can use PyTango8 with Tango 7, Tango 8 or Tango 9 device servers.
